Community Kitchen Volunteers

The Peel Community Kitchen has more than 40 volunteers offering their time and expertise throughout the year. We offer opportunities to work in a number of areas, including meal preparation in the kitchen, sausage sizzles, fund raising and promotion.

Volunteers are an important and integral part of our operation. Without the willingness of our volunteers to donate their time and skills, the Peel Community Kitchen would not be able to provide our services to the community and raise the funds necessary to fund it.

We encourage you to join our team of volunteers and in doing so, help others and have fun interacting. The time spent volunteering could in some cases help you with future employment.

Principles of volunteering:

  • Benefits the community and the volunteer
  • Volunteering is a legitimate way in which people can actively assist in their community
  • Volunteering respects the rights, dignity and culture of others

Workplace Health and Safety

Workplace health and safety is important in ensuring the workplace environment is both safe and encourages sound health practices. Volunteers are required to adhere to the Health and Safety guidelines of the Peel Community Kitchen.
